Welcome
to the New England Figure Skating Club (NEFSC). We are a young, growing
club that
began when the New England Sports Center opened its doors in 1995. Since
then our membership
has experienced tremendous growth and has included 1998 Olympic Gold Medalists Ilia Kulik, Evgeny Platov and Pasha Grishuk, as well as many
other accomplished international skaters and coaches. To this day, Surya Bonaly still calls the Sports
Center "home"! Since the Club's inception, our skaters have claimed many Regional,
Sectional, and National titles - a rarity for a club so young.
The
New England Sports Center, a world-class 5 rink facility, is located
in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The sports center houses 5 full size ice surfaces with
plenty of elevated, warm viewing areas. It also offers a state-of-the-art fitness center for off-ice training, as well as a snack bar and cafeteria-style restaurant. The NEFSC also participates
in a school program affiliated with nearby Hudson
High School that provides a customized curriculum to accommodate the demands of balancing academies and competitive skating.
The
Club offers a complete, year-round figure skating program for all levels
from beginners just learning to skate to National and Olympic competitors.
The New England Figure Skating Club is a USFSA club with over 200 members of all ages and abilities. The Club's highly
qualified professional staff and premier training facility have prepared
club members to compete successfully at USFSA sanctioned events including
New England Regionals, Eastern Sectionals, Junior Nationals, and Nationals.
In
addition, the New England Figure Skating Club is represented by The Blades of Gold, which has an Intermediate, Juvenile, and Preliminary line. Team Millenium has Junior, Novice, Juvenile, and Preliminary lines. Team
Millennium, who train in Connecticut, currently has three
lines which hold a Top 10 National ranking.
Our
club sponsors special events throughout the year including a New England
Championship Send-Off Dinner, and Holiday Exhibition.
We also host the annual Summer Challenge Open Competition, which draws
more than 350 competitors from the East Coast. We have successfully
managed several major skating events including ISI Worlds, New England
Regionals, Eastern Sectionals, and Adult Nationals.
